3040 CNC – Success Cutting a Camera Filter!

In this episode, we will be cutting a Near InfraRed (NIR) filter from standard 52mm camera setup for my DJI Mavic Pro Drone! The last time the filter won, yet this time I am gear up for the win! As I am going to use a 1.7mm Diamond Bur bit cutting at 3mm/sec (instead of 20 mm/sec) and a plunge rate of 0.2mm instead of 0,5mm and we found success. Now there was some slight scalloping at the edge, and I think if I would have used plunge of 0.1 this would have improved. Yet I did account for this in the design as I only need around 16mm clear and I cut to 19mm so it should work!
