So you have a OneUp! or TwoUp! with those melamine bearing retain clips which either break or come lose? While here is my answer to that problem as simply print some new ones. If you look back a I did a post on building them, however in this video you see them installed with several of my other tricks too! So if your having a love / hate relationship with your bearings! You need to watch this video!
Just wanted to share this great little free program from PleasantSoftware.com which adds a file viewer for STL files in Finder on the MAC along with other handy functionality. To download a copy goto: www.pleasantsoftware.com/developer/pleasant3d/. Again for free, if you a MAC user you need to get this application!
This is a replacement Bearing Retainer for Q3D TwoUp (and OneUp) LM8LUU as the melamine ones tend to break or fail. As there should be printed with a think shell as well as about a 30% in fill which will make them rather solid. As the ABS (the preferred material) tends to spread at the bottom layers, you will likely need to clean out the ridges inside with a hobby knife and bearing should then “snap” (i.e. make a snapping sound as they engage) in holder. Also when tightening down, would also suggest using a cross pattern being top left, to bottom right, back to bottom left and finishing at top right so pressure is applied evenly to the holder.
This is an end cap for 3/4″ by 3/4″ angle aluminum stock. It can be used as a foot or to finish off the top for appearance and safety. The fit is rather tight so I would suggest printing one and try in it as the gap is around 0.06″ with a bit of overlap on each side. These where printed in ABS with thick shells and 30% in fill.
This “pad” is designed to work as a pad between the rail and say a table top, or for sitting something on the rail itself. It attaches via two #8-32 1/2″ screws to two #8 nuts placed into the maker rail.
